Macbook WTF (a bump in the road)

I am scheduled to leave for New Orleans on Thursday and this is what i wake up to on my “new” Macbook.
Thanks to the Apple Genius Bar in Walnut Creek, this was fixed in about 1 minute. But i thought Macs didnt crash?
